
It is mid-march and the heatwave have gripped few states in India. Temperature touching 40 degree celsius in the month of march is bit alarming and something we are not used to. Thanks to the pollution and the resultant climate change.
It is scary to think of the situation in May and June by seeing the current climatic condition.
It becomes utmost important to take care of the basics and to not let our body take a hit in this severe hit wave.
Here are some important measures that we all should take to keep ourselves in the best of state and health in this extreme heat.
1. Keep Your Body Hydrated

You must have read and heard so many times on how important it is to be hydrated but in day to day lives we tend to forget this important aspect of hydrating our body.
Water is not just to quench our thirst but it has so many minerals which are essential for our body. If body loose out on those minerals, it may result in other problems which we may want to avoid.
It is also essential to maintain important body salts for proper functioning of internal and external organs. If exposed to sun or extreme heat and there is a burnout, it is also recommended to mix oral rehydration solution in water to ensure sufficient electrolytes and salt are mantained.
2. Intake of Natural Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant which plays a key role in protecting our body against infection and healing process.
Intake of oranges, strawberries, papaya, Guavas, lemon water etc. will provide you rich supply of vitamin C.
A mindful inclusion of vitamin C in your diet will play a huge role in keeping body’s health intact.
3. Lifestyle Adjustments

During extreme heat, we often feel to quench our thirst with a glass of chilled beer. The only problem is that beer will dehydrate the body even more. It works exact opposite than what we think. We need to ensure that we are limiting our intake of alcohol and have as much natural fruit juices instead.
It is very important to stay indoors, especially during second half of the day, take all measures to keep your body temperature low and avoid over exertion.
